Flinders Island, Australia

This wall was a collaborative community arts project by some awesome people who love art and Flinders Island. Mountain Seas Arts, a retreat located in Strzelecki National Park Flinders Island, provides residencies for visiting artists, asking that they contribute something to the local community in return. This project was the contribution of AIR Karen Morrow. It lived in Whitemark, Flinders Island on the wall of an art gallery recently acquired by Flinders Council and was launched with an embroidery exhibition. The launch was generously supported by the Country Womens Association, who organised a sausage sizzle for all who attended. The arts community on Flinders Island is very strong and this project was enthusiastically embraced by everyone.

I want to keep my life full of love, passion, creativity, music and a childlike amazement of nature.

I want to see all the boxthorn gone from Furneaux.

I want to visit Antarctica.

I want to play at the roots of my breathing tree, shake the branches then sing, sing again and then again and again.

I want to ski on Japanese snow.

I want to swim with sharks.

I want to be the first Governor of Flinders.

I want to mattress surf down really big stairs.

I want to make love on Whitemark beach.

I want to try freefall (by Lady Mary, age 100).

I want to start again.
