Teens from The Contemporary Austin’s Teen Council and Young Artists education programs created and presented Candy Chang’s Before I Die… project at the SFC Farmers’ Market – Downtown.

Teen Council and Young Artists members first heard about Before I Die… months before the set up date. The students were inspired by other walls all around the world and were eager to know what others in their community would write on their board. Teen participants at The Contemporary helped prepare materials weeks before the project was set up, research the project, create the boards, and teach others about Before I Die… After an overwhelmingly positive response from the community, the students are inspired to continue to explore public art and create more projects in the future. This wall was set up on April 5, 2014, and closed on the same day, but not before receiving hundreds of responses.
